Formatting any drive/ Pen drives using cmd only.

Sometimes you might feel problem while formatting drives in PC specially pen drive  then you wonder "How am I suppose to use this pen drive ??".So here I am with the solution.

Step 1:

Click on search button and type for cmd, right click  on the cmd icon and select run as administrator and click OK on the dialogue box.

Step 2:

Type the command

diskpart

It allows you to make some changes on the disk available on you computer.

Step 3:

Type the command

list disk

It will list all the disk/drives that are currently available in your computer system.

It will give the drive numbers as 0, 1, 2 depending on the numbers of storage device available.

Step 4:

To select the disk type the command

select disk 3

or any drives you want to select.

WARNING: DO NOT SELECT 0 BECAUSE IT IS YOUR C DRIVES WHERE YOU HAD INSTALLED YOUR OS MOST PROBABLY !

Step 5:

Type

list volume

It list all the volumes or you can say dives of your computer.

Then type

select volume 6

to select that drive





Step 6:

The final command for formatting the selected drive. Type the command

format fs=ntfs quick


Boom! You successfully formatted your drive.

Then type

exit 

to exit the disk part and again

exit

 to exit the cmd window.
